Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. That’s because the Native bands of Oklahoma have provided Bingo games for ages. Clients from many of the surrounding states get in vehicles and travel into Oklahoma to wager on Bingo over the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) became law after a precedent setting ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court the year before. From that time, 23 of the 39 Native bands located in Oklahoma have introduced bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Indian band to take advantage of the gaming restrictions, and today control ten gambling dens of their very own. Bingo was the game on which these gambling halls were built on. computerized games such as one armed bandits were not allowed, since they’re thought to lead to gambling problems more than bingo.

In recent years, Oklahoma law has changed to permit massive Native wagering gambling halls. You’ll now see Amerindian gambling dens with slot machine games, video poker and blackjack tables. Craps and roulette are not approved in the Native gambling dens yet, but this is simply a waiting game. No one can authority whether having different gambling den games in the bingo houses will do for the appeal of bingo.
