Much has been written in the press just a while ago concerning the bingo industry struggling as a result of the cigarette ban in the United Kingdom. Things have grown so awful that in Scotland the Bingo industry has asked for massive aid to assist in keeping the industry from going bankrupt. However will the web variation of this classic game present a reprieve, or will it not compare to its land based equivalent?

Bingo has been an age old game generally enjoyed by the "blue haired" generation. The effects of the cigarette ban can already be looked at in Scotland where cigarettes are already illegal in the bingo halls. Numbers have dropped and the industry is absolutely fighting for its life. But where have all the players gone? Obviously they have not given up on this enduring game?

The answer is on the web. Gamblers are now realizing that they can bet on bingo using their computer whilst enjoying a beer and cigarette and still enjoy monstrous jackpots. This is a recent anomaly and has timed itself just about perfectly with the ban on smoking.
